Grace Abuhamad is a senior advisor at the US Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). Previously, she managed the research program on trustworthiness at Element AI, an artificial intelligence company based in Montreal. She moved to Canada after completing a master’s degree in science technology and policy, where her research focused on algorithmic discrimination in consumer finance. Prior, she served as a policy specialist in the Office of International Affairs at the US Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration, where she coordinated policy on emerging technologies and supported bilateral engagements in South Asia. Prior to government service, Grace managed the public policy and multi-stakeholder strategy for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers in Washington, DC. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern studies from Wellesley College, and a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
