Laura Gardner
Laura Gardner is a senior attorney with the US Department of Commerce's Office of Chief Counsel for International Commerce, where she focuses on international trade in services, including e-commerce and privacy, as well as investment-related issues. Laura was a Robert Bosch Fellow from 2014–15, focusing on international trade policy, including data privacy issues, with work placements at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and at Google Germany. Prior to her work at the US Department of Commerce, Laura worked at the McDermott Will & Emery law firm and spent a year in Guben, Germany, as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant. Laura holds a juris doctor from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in international law from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of Chicago.
