Logan McDonald is a senior site reliability engineer at BuzzFeed. In her role at Buzzfeed, she develops secure and resilient infrastructure for one of the most highly visited websites on the internet. Outside of her work in infrastructure engineering, she leads BuzzFeed's Tech News working group, an internal organization through which technologists lend their expertise to BuzzFeed News reporting efforts. Through this role, she has published bylines on reporting about disinformation, surveillance technology and privacy issues. Prior to working at BuzzFeed, she's contributed to other internet companies like Kickstarter and Chef Software. Logan holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Seattle University and completed the Ada Developers Academy program in Seattle. During her studies, she received a Boren Scholarship for an academic exchange in Nigeria and interned with Pratham to research digital education initiatives in India.
