Yilmaz Akkoyun

Yilmaz Akkoyun works as senior policy advisor at the German Federal Parliament. Yilmaz has more than seven years of work experience in the German government, its parliament and international organizations. As a Julius Blocker Scholar, he graduated within the Global Public Policy Network’s dual degree program from Columbia University with a master’s degree in public administration specializing in advanced policy and economic analysis, as well as a master’s degree in public policy from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. Previously, Yilmaz worked as a graduate consultant for the United Nations Capital Development Fund in New York City and Kampala as well as at the German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. As a certified SDG professional, he is passionate about cross-sector collaborations and the intersection of climate and environmental as well as digital infrastructure policies.
