Colin Murphy
Colin Murphy is a threat intelligence researcher at Deutsche Cyber- Sicherheitsorganisation (DCSO), a community and competence center for cybersecurity cooperation between private and public sector organizations in Germany. Prior to joining DCSO, he was an intern at Mandiant, where he wrote about cyber espionage campaigns and investigated the internet infrastructure used for espionage operations. Colin has also worked MITRE, a US-federally funded research and development center, where he focused on the reverse engineering of embedded systems. Colin is interested in exploring emerging technologies used for the collection of cyber-threat intelligence, their effects on digital privacy, and the conflicting interests between state security and the protection of individual freedoms online. Colin holds bachelor’s degrees in computer science and German studies from Tufts University and has also completed coursework at Humboldt University in Berlin and the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
